Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Quote My Function platform (“Platform”), operated by Quote My Function (“we”, “us”, “our”). By using the Platform, creating an account, submitting an event brief, or registering as a supplier, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. You submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria for any disputes arising under these Terms.

1. What the Platform does

Quote My Function is a lead-generation marketplace that connects event hosts (“Customers”) with event service providers (“Suppliers”) across Australia. The Platform allows Customers to submit an event brief, be matched with relevant Suppliers, and share their brief with selected Suppliers.

We are not a party to any contract between a Customer and a Supplier. We do not guarantee the quality, suitability, or reliability of any Supplier, nor do we take a commission on bookings. All contractual arrangements are made directly between Customers and Suppliers.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to use the Platform. By using the Platform, you represent and warrant that you are 18 or older and have authority to provide the information you submit.

Suppliers must operate, or be authorised to represent, a genuine event services business in Australia. By registering as a Supplier, you represent that all information you provide is accurate, complete, current, and not misleading.

3. Customer terms

Submitting a brief

When you submit a brief, you confirm that the information provided is accurate to the best of your knowledge. You understand and agree that the Suppliers you select will receive your brief and contact details. Once a brief is sent to a Supplier, we cannot prevent that Supplier from having received it.

The Platform is free for Customers. There are no fees, commissions, or hidden charges. Quote My Function earns revenue from Supplier memberships only.

No guaranteed responses

We cannot guarantee that any Supplier will respond to your brief. Suppliers may be fully booked, unavailable on your date, or choose not to respond. We encourage Suppliers to respond within 48 hours and may remove unresponsive Suppliers from active listings.

Booking and payment

Any booking, contract, deposit, or payment is made directly between you and the Supplier. Quote My Function is not responsible for disputes, cancellations, or losses arising from these arrangements. We recommend you review any contract carefully before making a payment to a Supplier.

4. Supplier terms

Listing requirements

You must provide accurate business details, including your ABN where applicable, business name, contact information, service area, category, capacity information where relevant, and profile content. Listings are subject to manual review and approval. We may decline, suspend, or remove any listing that is incomplete, misleading, unlawful, unsuitable for the Platform, or inconsistent with these Terms.

Use of customer data

Customer contact details and brief information that you receive through the Platform may only be used to respond to that specific enquiry. You must not:

Breach of these obligations constitutes a material breach of these Terms and may result in immediate suspension or termination of your listing. It may also constitute a breach of the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Spam Act 2003 (Cth).

Membership and billing

Bronze membership has no charge for the first 12 months when completed through Stripe Checkout using the launch discount. To activate Bronze, you authorise Stripe to securely store your nominated payment method and create a Bronze annual subscription at the standard annual price. Unless you cancel before renewal, the Bronze plan renews at $99/year after the first discounted period.

Silver and Gold memberships are annual subscriptions processed through Stripe. By subscribing to a paid plan, you authorise Quote My Function and Stripe to charge your nominated payment method for the initial annual term and each renewal term unless you cancel before renewal. Renewal pricing is shown before checkout and on the pricing page.

During the founding supplier intake, Stripe may create your selected annual subscription with a free trial ending on the full-launch date shown before checkout. No payment is taken during that trial. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, Stripe will charge the nominated payment method for the first annual invoice at the displayed launch price (where applicable), and future renewals will use the standard annual price shown at checkout.

You may cancel renewal at any time from your supplier dashboard or by contacting us. Cancellation stops future renewal charges but does not automatically refund the current annual term. Your listing will remain active until the end of the paid period unless it is suspended or removed under these Terms.

Paid membership charges include a 7-day change-of-mind refund guarantee for the first payment on a new plan. Outside that period, refunds are assessed in accordance with these Terms and your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these Terms limits any non-excludable consumer guarantee or remedy you may have.

Prices are stated in Australian dollars. GST applies where required by law. If Quote My Function is registered for GST, prices will be GST inclusive unless stated otherwise and tax invoices will show the GST component and required business details. If we are not registered for GST at the relevant time, invoices or receipts will not include a GST amount.

5. Supplier approval and lead delivery

Payment or activation of a membership does not guarantee approval. Supplier profiles must pass admin review before being shown as approved in search results. We may request changes to your profile before approval.

We do not guarantee any minimum number of enquiries, bookings, revenue, or responses. Matching order may take into account plan tier, location, category, capacity, profile completeness, customer criteria, and other quality signals.

You are responsible for ensuring your services, licences, permits, insurance, staff, availability, pricing, and customer communications comply with all laws and industry requirements that apply to your business.

6. Prohibited conduct

You must not use the Platform to:

Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information; scrape, copy, or systematically extract data from the Platform; harvest supplier details or customer enquiries; submit briefs for lead broking, resale, competitor research, directory building, or any other purpose unrelated to planning a genuine event; interfere with or disrupt the Platform or its infrastructure; attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Platform; impersonate any person or entity; or use the Platform for any unlawful purpose.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account that engages in prohibited conduct, without notice.

7. Intellectual property

All content on the Platform — including text, design, logos, software, and compiled data — is owned by or licensed to Quote My Function and is protected by Australian and international intellectual property laws.

You retain ownership of any content you submit (e.g., your supplier profile description). By submitting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display and use that content to operate and promote the Platform.

8. Consumer guarantees and limitation of liability

The Platform is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we exclude all warranties and representations that are not expressly set out in these Terms.

We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that Suppliers listed on the Platform are appropriately skilled, licensed, or insured for your requirements.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability for a failure to comply with a consumer guarantee is limited, at our option, to supplying the relevant service again or paying the cost of having the service supplied again. For other claims, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to the Platform is limited to the amount you paid Quote My Function in the 12 months before the claim, or AUD $100 if you have not paid us.

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any guarantee, condition, warranty, right, or remedy that you may have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded, restricted, or modified.

9. Privacy

Your use of the Platform is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date and notify registered users by email where appropriate. Changes will not affect any paid subscription period you have already purchased unless required by law or reasonably necessary for security, compliance, or platform integrity.
